Coalition for Responsible Sex Education (CRSE)

The purpose of the Coalition for Responsible Sex Education (CRSE) is to work toward securing Comprehensive Sex Education in all Wisconsin Public Schools through political activism, youth empowerment and grassroots organizing. Comprehensive Sex Education programs present scientifically based, nonbiased instructional programs on human health and development, and promote safe and healthy decision-making and behavior among Wisconsin youth. Though abstinence is an important part of a sex education curriculum, the most effective programs that reduce and delay teen sexual behavior involve balancing abstinence with prevention information. Focusing on a balanced, responsible approach to human growth and development curriculum that includes information on abstinence, contraception and disease prevention is important so that young people learn healthy behaviors that reduce sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy. We support legislation that requires Wisconsin Public Schools to provide age-appropriate, scientifically based instruction in sex education. Wisconsin youth deserve accurate information regarding their health and development and should be provided with comprehensive and honest sex education. Wisconsin Women= Prosperity

Wisconsin Women = Prosperity (WW=P) is an economic development initiative, a broadband movement whose very existence catalyzes progress for women in diverse situations, inviting citizens to make their own contributions toward building a sustainable economy in Wisconsin by empowering women to make their best contributions in corporate, political and civic life; by building a collaborative statewide network among women and allied men; and forging ties with the broadest range of public and private partners. WW=P's Network of Networks represents a new democratic model dedicated to building power for women of every economic status, every age, and every ethnicity. We offer a compelling opportunity to participate in transforming all institutions through the creation of solutions that dismantle barriers to gender equity and guarantee full economic participation for women. The Reproductive Rights Task Force of the Wisconsin Women's Network actively promotes initiatives that improve access to reproductive health care and respect women's capacity to make private, personal decisions about when and whether to have a child. Members exchange information and organize around issues related to reproductive freedom, with a primary focus on legislation. For more information, please contact Lauren at Lauren.Rauk@ppwi.org.
